A Video Guide to Differential Interference Contrast (DIC)

Posted 4th 五月 2023

Our Senior Product Specialist, Geoff Ingram guides you through the basics of DIC (Differential Interference Contrast); what DIC is, how DIC works and how to set DIC up on an upright microscope like the Scientifica SliceScope.

Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) is a microscopy technique that introduces contrast to images of specimens which have little or no contrast when viewed using brightfield microscopy. The images produced using DIC have a pseudo 3D-effect, making the technique ideal for electrophysiology experiments.

You can also access a more in-depth online guide to DIC here.
