Scientifica VistaScope

The award winning, premier solution for multiphoton imaging, allowing you to see more cells, more clearly than ever before.

Use the VistaScope’s two identical scan paths to combine photostimulation and imaging, independent of wavelength. With an impressive 40mm field number, the VistaScope boasts multiphoton micro- and meso-scale imaging capabilities, at a microscope price tag.

The VistaScope was recognised as one of the best microscopy innovations in the 2022 Microscopy Today Innovation Awards.

产品优势

Industry-leading field of view

Visualise entire brain regions, and see twice as many cells at once using standard objectives. A 1.8mm field of view is fulfilled using a 16x objective, and near-meso performance is achieved using a 10x objective, with a monumental 2.9mm field of view.

Even illumination

The entire field of view is illuminated right to the edges, so the entire region you are imaging can be seen clearly. With no dark edges, you can collect higher quality data, and save time when locating your region of interest.

Perform simultaneous, wavelength independent photostimulation and imaging

Two identical scan paths for photostimulation and imaging allows you to image and stimulate using different wavelengths. Thanks to colour correction, performing imaging and stimulation at any chosen wavelength, at the precise region of interest in your sample, is easier than ever before.

Integrate the latest technologies as they emerge

Conjugated scanning mirrors give you flexibility to integrate technologies, such as adaptive optics, giving you peace of mind that you will be able to integrate emerging technologies with the VistaScope. This is a future-proof system.

Combine resonant and galvo imaging

Leverage both the wide scan range of galvo scanners and the fast scan speeds of resonant scanners by using them together in mROI imaging, for fast imaging over a large field of view. You have the ability to carry out a range of imaging experiments on a single microscope.

Perform fast imaging

Capture fast biological processes using resonant scanning. With mROI imaging, you can selectively target areas of interest with the resonant scanner across the entire field of view, for fast imaging over a large area.

Upgradeable and customisable to your requirements

The upgradeable design of Scientifica’s imaging systems continues, allowing the VistaScope to be customised to suit your specific requirements, either at the point of purchase or later down the line. This gives you complete flexibility, with the ability to perform multiple experiments using the same system.

Slimline and compact

All of these enhanced capabilities are achieved in the same, proven HyperScope footprint. The small footprint makes the VistaScope ideal for integrating electrophysiology components, for simultaneous electrophysiology and imaging.

Optimised for both two- and three-photon excitation

Perform in vivo and in vitro structural and functional imaging, using any wavelength you require. With optics coated for 700-1700nm, you can perform both two- and three-photon imaging using the VistaScope.

Designed for multicolour imaging

Improved performance for dual wavelength applications such as photostimulation experiments or multicolour imaging.

Industry-leading field of view

The VistaScope’s industry-leading field of view enables imaging of different brain regions simultaneously, and investigation of larger networks and larger model organisms.

Using standard, objectives, you can see twice as many cells, acquire more data, faster than previously possible, and see functional responses that you couldn’t previously see.

Rather than imaging individual areas separately and then stitching them together, you can image the areas simultaneously. With no need to stitch together data after imaging, time is saved and data accuracy is increased.

Bridging the micro-meso gap

Mesoscopes allow structures in the mm to cm range to be imaged at micron resolution, allowing entire cortical areas in mice to be imaged with cellular resolution, so dynamics of different brain regions can be correlated.

However, mesoscopes do not allow imaging with high resolution, many are limited to a narrow wavelength range, and they are often extremely expensive.

The VistaScope combines the flexibility of a multiphoton microscope that enables high resolution imaging over a wide wavelength range, with the large field of view of mesoscopes, at an affordable, multiphoton microscope price. Meso-scale imaging can be performed without needing a dedicated mesoscope. This maximises your experimental possibilities, whilst remaining cost-effective.

Modular and customisable design: A truly future-proof system

The upgradeable design of Scientifica’s imaging systems continues, allowing the VistaScope to be customised to suit your specific requirements, either at the point of purchase or later down the line.

The VistaScope simply integrates with the HoloStim-3D Spatial Light Modulator, as well as the FLIM Upgrade Kit.

A second scan path can be added when required, and RG or GG systems can be upgraded to RGG at a later date.

Start with a SliceScope or a HyperScope, and simply upgrade to a VistaScope when your experiments change. This is a simple and affordable way to maximise the use of your equipment, reusing as many existing components as possible for cost-efficiency and sustainability.

Integrate electrophysiology components, including manipulators and staging, to combine electrophysiology and imaging on one system.

This gives you complete flexibility, with the ability to perform multiple experiments using the same, compact system.

The power of mROI imaging: Five regions of interest (ROIs) imaged simultaneously using resonance-galvo-galvo (RGG) scanning, overlaid over locations in the image of the full FOV they correspond to. The image shows a 1.8mm square region of mouse somatosensory cortex, layer II/III expressing GCaMP6s. The insets are expanded by 1.5x to allow more detail to be seen.

Applications

The versatility of the VistaScope means it has a variety of applications as standard, as well as being expanded further when required:

  • Two-photon imaging - both in vivo and in vitro, functional and structural
  • Two-photon photostimulation - both in vivo and in vitro, including uncaging and optogenetics
  • Simultaneous imaging and photostimulation
  • Three-photon imaging - both in vitro and in vivo, functional and structural
  • Extendable to include a HoloStim-3D
  • Can be expanded for fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)
  • Can be integrated with electrophysiology components to enable electrophysiology and imaging to be combined

用户评价

“The Scientifica VistaScope enables high-speed imaging over a very large field of view using commercial microscope objectives. The scope is easy to use, i.e. it is a straightforward multiphoton scope platform that does not require optical engineering expertise to operate. The fact that it uses standard microscope objectives enables an element of future proofing as multiphoton objective designs continue to be optimised; any new objectives coming out in the coming years should still be usable on this platform. We tested this microscope thoroughly in our laboratory and found it to be industry-leading for large field of view imaging using standardised objectives.”
