Job description
The Lab
The group of Mario Prsa at the University of Fribourg (prsalab.org) is looking for PhD candidates to conduct research on neural mechanisms of forelimb sensorimotor adaptation and/or proprioceptive sensory processing.
Our laboratory is part of the Department of Neuroscience and Movement Science within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Fribourg comprised of a vibrant scientific community including more than 20 multi-disciplinary research groups (www3.unifr.ch/med/de/research/researchgroups/).
Research
Movements are at the center of all our behavior and accurate movements allow us to properly interact with the world. Proprioception and sensorimotor adaptation are two physiological processes crucial for maintaining movement accuracy. The applicant will use state-of-the art behavioral, optogenetic, two-photon microscopy and neuroanatomical tracing techniques to dissect the underlying neuronal circuits in the mouse brain.
The candidate
The ideal candidate:
- Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Engineering/Physics, Biology (or related discipline).
- Highly motivated, excellent analytical, experimental and writing skills.
- Experience in rodent behavior, optogenetics, in-vivo imaging and/or electrophysiology.
- Proficiency in data analysis, hardware programming and experimental control with Matlab
How to apply
Interested applicants should send a letter of motivation, complete CV and a list of referees to [email protected].
